Since the inception of Airbus in 1980s, it has been a strong manufacturer in passenger aircraft. Airbus once again has lead Boeing apart of having to report having more orders, the giant manufacturer also re-voluted its A320's power plant. Airbus has improved its A320 fleet by introducing a re-engine "New Engine Option" designed by P&W (PW1100G) or CFM (Leap X) to further improve the advanced aircraft fuel efficiency by another 15%.
The new variant also comes with a new "sharklet" winglet. The efficiency improvements translate into a savings up to 3,600 tonnes of CO2 annually plus a double-digit reduction in NOx emissions, reduced engine noise, lower operating costs and up to 500 nm. (950 km.) more range or two tonnes more payload, according to the company's president, Tom Enders. It also able to compete with Bombardier CSeries. The re-engine plane has 95% commodity to standard A320 variant. It's expected to make its delivery from Spring 2016.
