His Greatest Achievements

I believe that there's nothing worth it to bring all your wealth & fortune to your casket but what most valuable is what you bring to everyone before you enter the casket. (Quote by me heehee~) but really true & Apple's Steve Jobs did just that. In fact he did even more. He revolutionized the enter industry, market, world & every users' lifestyle. I believe he's the 21st century's Thomas Edison. He's a visionary.

♥ Apple ♥ Steve Jobs

Three Apples changed the World, one tempted Adam & Eve, another one fell on Newton and the third offered to the world half bitten by Steve Jobs. I'm just glad to live in this lifetime to see your masterpiece.

Thank You, Steve Jobs

Today the sky is as gloomy as the news of the passing away of Apple's CEO Steve Jobs. It's a blow to me that send me a few steps back to my chair. Not because of surprise but because I know we've lost such a profound genius who had such great personality & highest attitude. A mastermind behind iMac, iPhone, iPad, iPod, iTunes, etc. Just yesterday I'm watching the inauguration of iPhone 4S. I extend my utmost sincere condolences. Steve has been such an inspiration to all of us.

A computer is a bicycle for our minds. - Steve Jobs

Microsoft Bill Gates said: "I’m truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs’ death. Melinda and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Steve has touched through his work.

Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives.

The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.

For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely."

Friendship

Sometimes I ponder the days when I cried & now that I think back, it's just another damned thing. People changed & often very easily & mostly due to surrounding. Some of those who used to be strangers have became closer to us & form a new friendship ring but there're some who were close have became more & more distanced. In the end, we learn to appreciate close friendship & always after we're apart. Sadly, sometimes the things other people say might be fine to themselves but we feel like a knife that stab us. A saying I believe is true:" Words can't hurt you much unless the one who say those words means a lot to you."

Story Of Pencil & Eraser

Pencil: I'm sorry

Eraser: For what? You didn't do anything wrong.

Pencil: I'm sorry cos you get hurt bcos of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.

Eraser: That's true. But I don't really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do someth......ing wrong. Even though one day, I know I'll be gone and you'll replace me with a new one, I'm actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad. :)

I found this conversation between the pencil and the eraser very inspirational. Parents are like the eraser whereas their children are the pencil. They're always there for their children, cleaning up their mistakes. Sometimes along the way... they get hurt, and become smaller (older, and eventually pass on).

Though their children will eventually find someone new (spouse), but parents are still happy with what they do for their children, and will always hate seeing their precious ones worrying, or sad.

"All my life, I've been the pencil.. And it pains me to see the eraser that is my parents getting smaller and smaller each day.

For I know that one day, all that I'm left with would be eraser shavings and memories of what I used to have..."

Rewind, Review

From worm to cocoon to butterfly, looking back & back tracking, I see how much my growth & I learned what elder people always say: time flies. Well, as for me, there're ups & there're also downs. I must say I've yet to see the larger picture. Whether is trade/treat, thoughts/tricks, trait & truth, I've gained a lot of valuable lessons in life. Thank God & everyone around me who help put together who I'm today. I'll work hard.

When am I getting the last piece to complete the picture?

Life Itself Is A Quote

"You Learn.

You Learn

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,

And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises,

And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,

And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn...
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.

So you plant your garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure...

That you really are strong

And you really do have worth...

And you learn and learn...

With every good-bye you learn."

Life Buoy

"Some learn to perform, some born to perform." I totally agree.
"You've to learn the smart way & work hard not blindly." I totally agree.
"Drop the egoistic attitude & pick up every bits of life lesson humbly." I totally agree.
Now, take a deep breath in, swallow them & learn them by heart.

Shady Shadow

When you're swinging, I'm there to push you higher up;
When you're singing, I be your cheering audience;
When you're dancing, I'll be your partner;
When it's raining, I be your companion;
When you're pissed, I'm there for you;
When you're down, I tickle you to get back up;
When you're going to school, I carry your bag;
When you blushed, I stand behind you;
When you excel, I support you;
When you're in love, I feel a share of your happiness & sweetness.
When you laugh, I'm glad for you;
When you're on stage, I'm your number one fan;
When you're lonely, I stand by your side;
When you cry, I collect your tears;
Whenever & wherever, I'm there with you;
For I'm your shadow.

"Applied To Daily" Q&A

Most of the squatter's shelter are made of zinc, why is it safer than a shelter made of wood? Good question.

1. Wood is termite's food except teak wood.
2. Zinc forms what scientist call a "Faraday's Cage" whereby the charges are resided to the surface the zinc shelter & leaving the occupant inside safe in case of a lightning strikes.
3. A test shown that when the voltage is increased to a certain limit, wood actually got struck & blown to smithereens.

An important device in applied electromagnetic study and research and the applied science of the same field is the Faraday cage. The Faraday cage is a device that cancels out all electrostatic fields within the space that it encloses. Typically it is a metallic enclosure or cage that eliminates all electric fields of static nature by rearranging the charges within itself to such an extent such that there is no electric field. This is an intrinsic property of conductors and has been used ever since it was first discovered in the early 19th century. (Plucked from: www.faraday-cage.com)

However, zinc is a good conductor of heat & vibrations making inside an oven during the day & a tin can of noise.

Quiz, Test, Exam, Fun

Armed with pen & ID, I logged in to finish up the 2 online test I've been procrastinated for almost a week. Well, done it! Wait, the day after next, I've Calculus quiz then followed by Materials test. Then, 3rd online quiz for Graphics probably next week after we complete the syllabus for the week. I'm on an express bullet train called- Test.

Update Update

It has been officially 1 month since I enrolled into U. Kinda miss the post HSC life but appreciating the present. Everyday I get to see around 4-5 airplanes passing by. Kinda reminds me of something.

Now, I routinely get to walk at least a couple of 100m laps everyday due to the shuttle bus system that is punctually late. Well, piles of work waiting & now it's already the start of the second half of the year 2011. You & I gotta make sure the resolutions set in the beginning of this year are achieved & satisfied.

Till then good night, signing out. Tomorrow is a new day. New story. New post.

Parts & Puzzles

Jamming now. Raining now.

For the this whole week I've been spending quite a lot on everything from food to tech. drawing stationery to dailies. It's time for saving spree.

Just a week into official lecture, I've 3 projects already which includes "wielding" a knife (designing it using suitable & specific materials), isometric drawing (sketch) & TV Program in Bahasa Malaysia (close-to-real acting). At the same time assignments, fitness & etc calling me. Time management again.

Sometimes, it's hard to concentrate when u've lost a crucial part of the puzzle piece which you really need to complete it. It's difficult. However, with perseverance, I believe God will light up the way leading to it soon. At the moment, pick up as much experiences as life has to offer.

Boeing Revolution

Boeing has always been playing a main role in the aviation industry in both commercial and freighter. Just after Airbus introduced its new A320 variant, the NEO, Boeing stepped up with to improve its trusty B747 series fleet which has been announced since 2005.

Incorporating B787 technology engines (GEnx 2B67), the airplane will be quieter, produce lower emissions, and achieve better fuel economy than any competing jetliner. The B747 Intercontinental will provide nearly equivalent trip costs and 13 percent lower seat-mile costs than the B747-400, plus 26 percent greater cargo volume. Operating economics will offer a significant improvement over the A380. The B747-8 is more than 10 percent lighter per seat than the A380 and will consume 11 percent less fuel per passenger than the 555-seat airplane. That translates into a trip-cost reduction of 21 percent and a seat-mile cost reduction of more than 6 percent, compared to the A380.

In short, the new B747 is more fuel economical, produce less harmful exhaust emission and more technologically advanced. The new B747 is designed for more efficient intercontinental travel and freighter.

Cooling, Chilling

Finally the long awaiting rain has came bringing cool refreshing breeze together. It has been almost 2 weeks in university & few classes. I guess Uni life seemed relax before exam & after exam but in fact at the back drop, a lot of self revision and enrichments have to be done. Though I'm said to be more of Mechanics, I enjoy Chemistry especially after I attend Material engineering & taught by a friendly lecturer with a little sense of humor. Overall, I'm glad MBS has given me a solid pillar of foundation to prepare me for Uni. Thanks, MBS.

Kung Fu Panda 2, Pirates of The Caribbean 2, Cars 2, Transformers 3, X-men First Class and Harry Potter 5 Part 2 are screening soon. Material engineering and Calculus tests are also around the corner. Time management.

AirAsia Flying To Japan

Despite the 9.0 Richter scaled earthquake and nuclear plants unstable, AirAsia has made an effort to expand their routes to Japan naming "AirAsia flies to Japan With Love". No doubt AirAsia has many great strategies to maintain as a strong player in the commercial aviation industry. Great job!

A Day Back To MBS

It was just an awesome feeling to be going back to MBS. The nostalgia & memories instant flashed back. Playing basketball there was the usual feeling except for the poor stamina I have which caused muscle aches later on. Anyway, it was great to be playing again. Thanks to Jason Yip for arranging it.

Though out the game I spotted 3 kinds of aircraft. 1 turboprop aircraft with 4 engines, I guessed it's C-130 Hercules from the appearance at the size of a nut. 3 A320 at 1 time high up and a piper. Wait, a helicopter passed by also. Clear morning sky is always busiest.

Tomorrow, lecture classes officially start after a week long orientation. Lets pray to God everything will sail smoothly. Embrace together. Ora Et Labora.

Airbus Revolution

Since the inception of Airbus in 1980s, it has been a strong manufacturer in passenger aircraft. Airbus once again has lead Boeing apart of having to report having more orders, the giant manufacturer also re-voluted its A320's power plant. Airbus has improved its A320 fleet by introducing a re-engine "New Engine Option" designed by P&W (PW1100G) or CFM (Leap X) to further improve the advanced aircraft fuel efficiency by another 15%.

The new variant also comes with a new "sharklet" winglet. The efficiency improvements translate into a savings up to 3,600 tonnes of CO2 annually plus a double-digit reduction in NOx emissions, reduced engine noise, lower operating costs and up to 500 nm. (950 km.) more range or two tonnes more payload, according to the company's president, Tom Enders. It also able to compete with Bombardier CSeries. The re-engine plane has 95% commodity to standard A320 variant. It's expected to make its delivery from Spring 2016.

CNY Celebration

Thank God for the blessing for last year & this year. My celebration was a blast before day 1.

Boarding AA's A320-300 while maintenance crew checkup for departure after refueling.

I just love having people together for food. Love the noise. Love the ang pau of course. As I growing up, I'm kinda getting involved in the conversation with the adults & not in between kids & adults anymore apart from me thinking the day I'm distributing the ang pau (wow... Joking).

Well, the fact is that Facebook is a broader platform, which explains why many including me spending less time blogging. Anyway, I'll still spend time filling info & spices whenever I can. Now on I'll also put up some events happening around. So, stay tuned. Till then, Happy CNY, everyone & Happy holiday!

Rain

It has been more than 24 hours now & it's still raining lightly. The sky is crying longer than usual. Mist cloaks the skyscrappers that normally stand magistically and lingers at places we don't usually see any clouds. The raindrops that I miss to catch shows how much I missed u. I just love cold weather.
